Job Specifications:
The SQL Application Support Technician is responsible for 3rd line support of our Arch suite of integrations and systems. Calls are escalated via our Customer Support Desk to be verified as, bug related issues, user errors, or for data modifications.

The role involves extensive investigation into the root cause of problems or incidents. As and when the need arises, you will be required to be involved in piloting of new applications or integrations. This will involve working closely with the onsite teams as well as the development teams, thus ensuring that projects are a success. All related documentation and training need to be completed prior to sign-off, ensuring consistent practice and adherence to SLA policies and procedures.

In addition, your job scope requires database conversions. This is conducted as new clients, with existing databases, implement Arch, and you will be tasked with providing seamless modifications to the existing data structure to ensure compatibility with the Arch solutions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • IT related Diploma or Degree
  • 2-4 years advanced 2nd line support
  • Solid troubleshooting experience
  • Advanced SQL experience (SQL 2014 / 2010 / 2008)
  • Well-developed skills in SQL database support, including writing and running of SQL scripts, and the building of, and design of architecture
  • Database conversion experience
  • Reviewing and monitoring reports from the application to determine possible cause of errors
  • Quoting clients and ensuring the change management process is followed for any data changes.
  • Incident reports to management to highlight potential areas of risk.
